SURGIFLO Haemostatic Matrix, mixed with sterile saline or thrombin solution, is indicated for surgical procedures (other than ophthalmic) as an adjunct to haemostasis, when of bleeding ranging from oozing to spurting by ligature or other conventional methods is ineffective or impractical. When used properly in minimal amounts, SURGIFLO™ is absorbed completely within 4-6 weeks. It is available with or without thrombin.

SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix with thrombin has been shown to be effective at achieving hemostasis in cases of mild oozing, moderate flowing blood, and pulsatile, spurting bleeding.^D7 SURGIFLO™ Haemostatic Matrix with thrombin performs similarly to FLOSEAL™, achieving hemostasis within approximately 60 seconds of application in animal models.

SURGIFLO Haemostatic Matrix maintains uniform viscosity from beginning to end, unlike FLOSEAL.^F12 It demonstrated a lower variation in its fluidity compared to FLOSEAL (6.3% vs. 62%)
